About
About
The building interprets the scale and form of a truck or car, repurposed as a children’s daycare and pediatric clinic, translating a familiar real-world object into a spatial experience of play and exploration. The design emphasizes the duality of scale, allowing children to engage with elements reminiscent of toys at a smaller scale while simultaneously experiencing the building as a larger, immersive object. This approach transforms each part and moment into an interactive experience, creating a living, playful museum that encourages children to explore, understand, and relate to the world around them.
Organized across open, interconnected floors, each level offers a playful layout inspired by the abstraction of car components, where forms, textures, and mechanisms are reinterpreted to shape spatial experiences. The architecture is designed to spark curiosity, foster imagination, and support movement, while providing areas for observation and interaction between children and adults. Pedagogical principles underpin the design, integrating Montessori hands-on learning and Vygotsky’s focus on social engagement and guided discovery. Through this layered and deliberate approach, the building becomes an experiential landscape where children learn through play, observation, and exploration, cultivating understanding, growth, and a joyful engagement with their environment.
